About

jcorp.uk is where Jonathan Corp publishes essays on strategy, operating models and value creation, and on the corporate finance, markets and technology that shape them.

The writing comes out of a career spent advising and running large companies: how value actually gets created, how an operating model either delivers the strategy or quietly strangles it, and where the finance and technology underneath really sit. It aims to be concrete and useful rather than to chase the news. If you think a piece is wrong, or right for the wrong reasons, I would like to hear it.

A method runs under all of it. Take the variable everyone is watching and find the one upstream of it: the state that decides whether any of the visible variables matter at all. Distrust the narrative and go to the body under it: the cash under the P&L, the network under the platform, the credit spread under the equity market, the clerical work under the org chart. The domains change; the move does not. Some of these ideas are now working software, linked from the essays that argue them.

Three essays that show the range and the single method under it. The switch behind the screen ties the investing work into one thesis. Delivering value creation specifies the operating system to the mechanism. The cloud is a furnace takes the same eye to physical infrastructure, the body beneath the weightless story. Read those three and the shape is clear.
